i write to you from a new joy i’ve discovered. for some time now, i’ve been looking for a little coffee shop near me with free wifi, yummy tea and non-coffee drinks, comfortable chairs, table space, and all that good stuff. is that too much to ask? i don’t think so! well it has taken me about six months, but i think i’ve found it! it’s called kick butt coffee and it is located in the triangle off of lamar and 45th. i have been here for many hours today and haven’t been disturbed once. well…at least not be a person. the one drawback to this little wonder is the giant projector in the middle, on which the lovely owners have decided to play the most random movie ever. i think it is supposed to be some kind of ninja movie, but i wouldn’t know, because instead of playing it, they kept it on the dvd menu for 4 HOURS. so i watched a couple guys get their teeth knocked out and a crazy lady screaming on repeat for the entirety of my first experience. wow. if there is one thing in life i do not understand, it’s ninja movies. i mean, how many times can you watch someone get punched in the face? really? i guess it is better when you aren’t watching the same sequence over and over, but still, it’s a bit excessive i think. all that to say, i have been quite productive today. i didn’t go to class because i hadn’t yet used my one personal day we are allowed a semester, so i figured it was time. i ran some errands earlier today and then plopped myself down at my new fave and have been working diligently ever since. its nice to feel like you’ve accomplished something and worked as hard as you possibly could have on it. the only problem is that quality work just takes far too long to complete…in my opinion at least. it would be so much easier if i could produce something awesome in about an hour. oh well. such is life i guess…mine at least. that should be all for now then. i decided to keep my first post light-hearted, as i assume there will be many other opportunities for me to heart vomit all over you :). until then though, i say farewell, or more appropriately, arrivederci. i love you all.
